Sir Paul Callaghan Eureka awards
Competitions
Date: 10 Mar, 2016 to 01 Jul, 2016
The Eureka programme identifies and fosters young leaders in science, technology, engineering or mathematics.
The Sir Paul Callaghan Eureka Awards are the principal event of each Eureka year.
The awards consist of six regional competitions and one national competition that is held in Wellington each year.
The EUREKA! National Finals feature 12 students who have been selected as eligible candidates at their EUREKA! Regional Preliminary Competitions held in all the university centres. The 12 compete for the Sir Paul Callaghan Premier Award and the right to be known as the Sir Paul Callaghan Young Science Orator of the Year.
The premier award and highly commended awards, as well as a large selection of scholarships mainly based on the eleven National Science Challenges, are competed for at the national final.
