Nutrigenomics is the study of people’s response to food and food components. The research aims to develop food that can be matched to individual genotypes to improve overall health and combat specific diseases. The research is a collaboration of The University of Auckland, AgResearch, and Crop & Food Research and HortResearch, (now merged and called called Plant & Food Research), and focuses on inflammatory bowel diseases, like Crohn’s disease. Here, Lynn Ferguson a programme leader explains more about the Nutrigenomics New Zealand’s research.
