Joanna Kirman (Malaghan Institute): You can do your study all in NZ. I did my post-doctoral training, which occurs after you have got your PhD, overseas. And it’s a really good idea to go and do that overseas because you expose yourself to so many potential collaborators. You get to meet the international scientific community, and get yourself known overseas, which I think is very important when you are on the other side of the world trying to do research. And you draw on these people all of the time, and they provide you with resources and new ideas. So that’s a very good thing to do.
